

Frederick was born on September 10, 1925 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to parents Jacob and Jennie Olina (Hanson) Rothenbuhler.
Fred graduated from the Cameron High School and went on to further his education at UW Madison for 2 years. Fred enlisted in the US Navy during WWII where he served in the Pacific on a salvage ship as a welder. He married Etta Mae Mack on June 17, 1950 in Spooner, WI, enjoying 63 years together. After being married, they moved to Kenosha where he worked for American Motors for 18 years. In 1976 they moved back to Trego, WI where he worked for the Lampson Fire Tower, and drove school bus for the Spooner School District. Fred owned and operated the McLain Lake Tavern and the Chicog Pub during this time, but his passion was building and remodeling houses. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life are his wife Etta of 63 years; eight children: Faye E. (Leon) Keeton of Alabama, Kim J. (David) Christian of Trego, WI, Frieda (Walter) Kosterman of Spooner, WI, Joseph F. Rothenbuhler of Trego, WI, Susan T (Bruce) Johnston of Trego, WI, Jean A (Brad) Avery of Spooner, WI, Lisa Smith of N. Fort Meyer, FL, Wendy G. Rothenbuhler of Shell Lake, WI; 21 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and one sister Agnes (Jerome) Jorgenson of Trego, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother John Rothenbuhler; two sisters Verna Raatz and Marie Rothenbuhler.
Private family services will be held.
