

Lillian was born in Spooner on July 4, 1920 to John and Josephine Kasparec. She attended Evergreen Grade School and was a graduate of Spooner High School.
After graduation, Lillian was employed as secretary for the Federal Land Bank in Spooner for 4 years. She met Arthur H. Golden while he was the band director for the Spooner High School. While Art was serving in the Coast Guard during WW II, Lillian moved to New York City in 1943 where she was employed as secretary for the Army Air Transport Command in the finance office of LaGuardia Airport. She was later transferred to Park Ave. in New York, the port of embarkation for soldiers during World War II. Art and Lillian were married in New York City on January 21, l944.
After the war, the couple returned to Spooner where Lillian worked as secretary at Lampert Yards for 22 years, retiring in 1984. Lillian enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, as well as playing bridge, the harmonica and alto saxophone. She played in a quartet with her husband for several years. Lillian loved outdoor activities such as skating and skiing with family and friends.
Lillian was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, the Fatima Group, and Altar Society.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Casad, Madison; Kathleen (Wally) Iselin, Platteville; and Rita (Gene) Roberts, LaCrosse; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, of 52 years; an infant son, Thomas; two brothers, Joseph and Charles Kasparec; and sister, Mary Dakin.
Visitation will be held from 10:00–12:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25 at Dahl Funeral Home in Spooner, WI. A prayer service with Father Ed Anderson will begin at noon with the burial to follow.
