

Viola Carol Molacek was born on July 7, 1924, in Callaway, Minnesota to parents Anton and Christine (Maruska) Molacek, one of 13 children. She attended country school at District 111 School near Callaway. After High School, she moved to the Twin Cities for work, and met her future husband Harry Boatman. On April 12, 1947, she was united in marriage to Harry, and in 1960 settled in South St. Paul until 1976 when they moved to Hertel upon retirement. Viola was a gifted hand knitter, loved her flowers and gardening, and had the ability to make friends where ever she went, and enjoyed making her rounds to visit them.
Viola died on Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Spooner Health System at the age of 87.
Viola is survived by her children: Diana (Bill) Fritz of Orinda, CA, Vicki Boatman of Huntington Beach, CA, Gary Boatman of Menomonie, WI, Jody (Mike) Lawson of Spooner, WI, 6 grandchildren: Bill Jr. (Linda) Fritz, Karen (Jeff) Helfter, Angela Boatman, Drew (Shannon Hady) Boatman, Jeremy Lawson, Jessica Lawson, 2 great grandchildren: Lindsay and Ashley Burr, and many other extended family and friends.
Viola is preceded in death by her husband Harry, parents, and several brothers and sisters.
Casket bearers will be Angela Boatman, Drew Boatman, Gary Boatman, Jeremy Lawson, Jessica Lawson, and Mike Lawson.
