

Loving husband, father and grandfather Adalbert “Bert” Krei, 87, passed away July 27, 2016, at Bayfront Brooksville Hospital. He was born February 15, 1929, in Remscheid, Germany to Paul and Katharina Krei. Adalbert grew up in a large Catholic family in Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1962 and worked as an engineer for General Motors for several years. After he left GM he opened his own photography studio. He was an award-winning photographer until he retired in 1994. In 2011 Adalbert's autobiographical memoir, “Ten Guardian Angels and a Tin Tub”, was published. In it he tells his story of growing up during the depression and surviving World War II in Germany. Bert was a creative, free spirited man who had a true love of nature. He also had a great sense of humor and always left a lasting impression on all who knew him throughout his life. In his later years, Bert was known for his passion for cooking and baking German foods. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends who loved him so very much. Until his last day, he was devoted to caring for his wife of 65 years, Marga. Mr. Krei is survived by his wife Marga (Schlang) Krei; daughter Inge Bosman and spouse Kevin; grandchild Leo Bosman; and several nieces and nephews. Adalbert was predeceased by all nine of his brothers and sisters. A private memorial was held at Brooksville Healthcare Center.
