Andre Hans Raveling was born May 17, 1970 in Wheat Ridge Colorado to John and Jan Raveling. Andre had a zeal for life, if it was fun, he was going to try it. Everything from big wheel riding, soccer, swimming, running, basketball, biking, skiing, singing in the high school show choir, going to concerts, listening to music, golfing, fishing, and spending time with people. He made a positive and lasting impression on everyone he met, even if he met them only one time. His son, Sawyer, has picked up this trait.
Andre took his love of sports to pursue his education through running scholarships at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling CO and Black Hills State University in South Dakota. Andre went on to work in the running and bike industry. Andre also spent time building a DJ business which reflected his love for music, a trait he shares with his daughter Zoey. Andre also combined his faith, love for the Lord, love for his kids and sports by coaching Zoey and Sawyer’s soccer teams at Idlewild Baptist Church for many seasons. He most recently spent his career as a mortgage loan officer first at USAA and later at PennyMac. Both were good fits for his sales and ambitious personality.
During his free time, Andre loved spending time with his family. His beautiful and loving wife Julia, an amazing Italian cook, made home a warm and relaxing atmosphere. She was loving and caring for Andre and they were the love of each other’s lives.
Andre was faithful in calling his mom each day because he loved her so much. Andre was devoted to his family and friends. He enjoyed staying in touch, demonstrating the value of each person. Andre and his older brother John, were best friends. In their last golf outing, which included Sawyer, Andre beat John and ended their time together by assessing that all was good in the world since Andre had the win.
Andre passed away of heart failure February 19, 2025.
Andre’s kindness and generosity will sadly be missed.
He is survived by his wife Julia Wenerd Raveling of Spring Hill, FL, daughter Zoey Raveling and son Sawyer Raveling of Lutz, FL, mother Jan and husband Wayne Benbow of Homosassa, FL, sister Jill and niece Mary Caroline Bearden of Brenham, TX, brother John and wife Lisa Raveling IV of Lutz, FL, sister Natalie Raveling of Johnstown, CO, sister-in-laws, Pamela Simmons, Laura and husband Edmund Ravo both of Tampa, Florida, uncle Charlie Brinkerhoff of Des Moines, IA and Aunt Sue Raveling of Des Moines, IA.
