Arthur Manning Buck, Sr. age 92, of Brooksville, FL., went home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2015 at at the HPH Hospice Center in Brooksville. A resident of Brooksville since 1974 coming from Morrill, Maine. Born on June 17, 1922, in Belmont, ME. And was the son of the Late Jephtha Edward & Susie (Morse) Buck. He graduated from Crosby High School in 1942. During WWII Arthur proudly served our country in the Army Air Corp (precursor to the US Air Force) in England, servicing in the 8th Army Division, known as the “Gentlemen From Hell”. When the war ended he returned to Maine to work on the family farm, along with working other jobs. When his father re-tired from his state D.O.T job, Arthur decided to take his position. Arthur retired in the early 70’s, from the State of Maine, Department of Transportation, as a Foreman. He married Antina Maresh on June 21st, 1951. They were married 60 years when she went home to be with the Lord. For many years Arthur would divide his time between simmers in Maine and winters in Florida. Arthur loved to work in his garage, visit friends, and go to yard sales and the flea market along with traveling with Tina to different parts of the country. Most weekdays you would find him playing cards and seeing friends at the Brooksville Enrichment Center. He was always ready to help anyone in need. He was also known for his great sense of humor. Arthur was a born again Christian and on Sundays he attended Calvary Chapel of Hernando County. He was also life time member of both the VFW Post 10209 of Spring Hill and the DAV Post 67 in Brooksville, as well as a past member of the American Legion. Arthur is preceded in death by his beloved Wife Antina Maresh Buck on August 17, 2011, Son, Arthur M. Buck, Jr. on January 13, 2013, Daughter, Nancy Buck-Wood on October 2, 1989, and brother Wilber Buck. Grier Inmon was also waiting to greet Pop Pop as he entered heaven. Arthur is lovingly survived by his daughter, Frances (David) Powell, of Phoenix, Ar. daughter-in-law, Linda W. Buck of Brooksville, FL., son-in-law Michael (Linda) Wood Sr., grandchildren: Michael (Heather) Wood Jr, Joseph (Nichol) Wood, Nathan (Laura) Wood, Arthur M (Heather) Buck, III, and Crystal-Lynn Buck, eleven great-grandchildren, adopted family Richard (Bonnie) Inmon, RJ (Jermice) Inmon along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Arthur will be sorely missed by all who are left behind. We look forward to one day being reunited with home in heaven. Pastor Matt Andruss will officiate. The VFW 10209 Spring Hill Post will bestow the military Honors following the religious services.
