Bernard Francis “Vance” Barton went to his eternal home on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in Spring Hill, FL with his beloved wife, Lori by his side. Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 4, 1926, he outlived all of his 6 siblings. Vance enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served in the Pacific in World War II. He was married in 1949 to Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Read, who passed away in 1993. He enjoyed a long employment from 1951-1986 with the New York Telephone Company. Beloved father to Ceal Cobb, Harry Barton, Dan Barton, Frank Barton, Cathie Bartels, and Lisa Miano. Cherished by his 14 grandchildren: Heather Moutoux, Jennifer Rowland, Traci Gordon, Elizabeth Rawlins, Holli Spangler, Frank Barton, Jr., Kati Rose, Ariel Curcio, Lauren Bartels, Matthew Miano, Kevin Bartels, Jaclyn Miano, Andrew Miano, and Dylan Barton.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
