Carl Frederick Schmidt

He was the younger brother of the late AnnaMae Horvath.

He was the beloved father of Julie Reitmeyer and the late Duane Schmidt.

Carl was a proud Grandfather to Michael (Alyssa Eldred) Reitmeyer, Alyssa Schmidt and Jacob (Desiree) Reitmeyer. He was a Great-Grandfather to Landen Reitmeyer, Chance Schmidt, and Brooks Reitmeyer.

He had a special and close relationship with his nephew Keith Horvath and his children Natalie Horvath and Derek Horvath.

Carl was an Army vet who served in the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.

Carl lived in Farmington, MI during his working life. He spent his career working for Ford Motor Company as a Quality Control Manager. In 1985, Carl retired from the Wixom Assembly Plant and certainly enjoyed his retirement.

Carl moved to Georgia for several years after leaving Michigan before settling down in his forever Florida home.

He spent his retirement doing what he loved the most: Golfing. He also really liked to fix and build decorative objects, painting, and working on his home.

Towards the end, Carl enjoyed cruising his neighborhood and surrounding areas on his golf cart.

He will be missed by all who knew him.
