Donald Allen Rice, age 92, of Spring Hill, FL, passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by loved ones, on September 10th, 2024. Don was born on January 24th, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Blanche Klonder and Carl Rice. Don married Margaret Rice on October 11th, 1993.

In 1951, Don enlisted in the US Navy where he faithfully served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955. He utilized his learned skills from the Navy and worked for Sperry-Rand Univac for 36 years. He retired in 1992. Donald loved and cared for his many children, step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a wonderful father and was deeply devoted to his loving wife Marge for nearly 31 years. Don loved playing golf, bowling, and was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He was a technology enthusiast. As a hobby Don would like to play the piano, listen to music and was a crossword puzzle whiz. Every night you could catch him watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

He is preceded in death by his mother Blanche Rosswalter (nee Klonder), father Carl, his brother Jim (Louise), daughter-in-law Beth (Craig), step-son Darren Edlund, and step-daughter-in-law Kristi Edlund (Brian).

Don is survived by his wife, Marge, children Craig (Beth), Catherine (David) Schultz, Dennis (Mirah), Susan (Keith) Borgstrom, his stepchildren Chris Edlund, Jody (Pete) Dellefave, Brian (Candice) Edlund, and his seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A ceremony at Fort Snelling National Cemetery and a celebration-of-life in St. Paul, MN are to be announced at a later date.
