December 18, 1952 – November 4, 2025
With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Duane Roger Rodeo, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong public servant. Born on December 18, 1952, Duane peacefully entered eternal rest on November 4, 2025. Duane is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Rodeo, his five children — Christie Rodeo-Morgan, Heather Rodeo-Hampton, Brian Rodeo, Terri McCarthy, and Christopher Rodeo — as well as his loving sister Debbie Truhlar. He was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Duane also shared a close bond with his children’s spouses, each of whom loved and respected him deeply. He will be greatly missed by Christie’s husband, Jeff Morgan, Heather’s husband, Troy Hampton; Brian’s wife, Angelina Rodeo; Terri’s wife, Janet McCarthy; and Christopher’s wife, Amy Rodeo. They were not just in-laws, but part of his heart and his family, and he cherished each of them. A man defined by loyalty, strength, and deep compassion, Duane’s love for his family was unwavering. He worked tirelessly to provide, protect, and guide those he cherished, giving everything he had to ensure his family lived a secure and meaningful life.
Duane devoted his life to serving both his country and his community. He served six years in the National Guard, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in law enforcement. He worked for the Forest View Police Department for 2 years, the North Riverside Police Department for 8 years, and later dedicated 27 years to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. In addition, Duane proudly served 6 years with the U.S. Marshals Office in Tampa, Florida, bringing honor and integrity to every role he fulfilled.
He enters the afterlife reunited with those who went before him: his father Robert Rodeo, his mother Loretta Rodeo, and his sister Sandra Varvel. We find comfort in knowing they are together again, embraced in Jesus’s grace. Duane will be remembered for his generosity, his work ethic, his humility, the profound pride he took in his family, and the deep love he carried for each of them. His legacy of honor, service, love, and family devotion lives on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held at VFW Post 10209, located at 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. The event is scheduled for December 4, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
