

Elizabeth Quirk Andrus, age 87, of Spring Hill, Florida, died on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at the Heron Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center in Brooksville, FL. Elizabeth came to Spring Hill 4 years ago, to be cared for under her daughters diligent care. Elizabeth was born on September 29, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY to the late John & Mary (Smyth) Comiskey. She lived her entire adolescent life in Carnagh County Armaugh, Northern Ireland, and returned to the USA just short of her 18th birthday. She worked in NY NY, where she met her future husband through a friend. She married the love of her life, Michael Quirk, on December 18, 1951, and they remained married until his death in 1987. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her parents, her young son Neil Quirk at the age of 18 due to an automobile accident, and her daughter, Janet Franquet, at the young age of 33 due to Breast Cancer, in 1999. Elizabeth is loving survived by her daughter, Joanne Quirk, of Northport, LI NY, son, Michael Quirk and his wife Judy, of Centereach, LI NY, and daughter, Joyce Gagliardi, of Spring Hill, FL, 6 grandsons; Michael, Rowen, Rocco, Danny, Timmy, & Billy, and granddaughter Kailey, and her sister, Kathleen Riegal, of Springfield, MA. Elizabeth was a longtime active member of the AOH, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 8, Selden, NY, and Roman Catholic in faith. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Race for the Cure, in Elizabeth’s memory.
