Esther Lucille Gustas

On Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, Esther “Lucy” Gustas was promoted to glory at the age of 68. Lucy was born on July 3, 1954 in Los Angeles, California to Carl and Esther Ahlteen. She received her nursing degree from Elgin Community College in Illinois in 1985, and practiced nursing for over 30 years. She raised two sons, Brian and Chris, and one daughter, Jacque. Lucy’s passion for nursing was always evident in the way she compassionately helped those that were blessed enough to be under her care. Lucy also loved to read. Anyone that knows her, knows that she has enough books to open a library. Her favorite time of the day was when she would sit out on her back porch and read a book. But, nothing compared to the love that she had for her grandchildren, Kayla, Kaine, Ava, and Brielle. She would do anything for them and always tried to be a part of them growing up. Lucy is survived by her three children, Brian, Chris, and Jacque, and her four grandchildren, Kayla, Kaine, Ava, and Brielle. There will not be a funeral service as Lucy did not want one, however, her children would love for anyone to share a story or something that reminds you of her.
