

A beloved husband, father, grampy, great-grampy, uncle, cousin and friend. Everett touched the lives of all who knew him with his warmth, kindness, infectious smile and unwavering generosity. A gentle giant, he was our big teddy bear.
Everett is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Pauline "Polly" Eddy Wiggins, and their loving family: six children, Margaret Dino (Larry), Everett Earl Wiggins III (Karen), Teresa Kruse (Rob), Rosanna Wiggins Rainbolt, Theresa Merriam (Matt), and Woody Wiggins—as well as a cherished bonus son, Terry Rutledge (Donna). He was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren: Neil Dino (Andrea), Megan Pagett (Tyler), Michael and Kristi Wiggins, Alexa and Ben Kruse, Kayla and Stephanie Rainbolt, Matthew and Taylor Merriam, Skye and Lily Wiggins, Christine Cardena (Ruben), and Tonya Rutledge. He also leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Noah and Julian Rutledge, Emitt and Carter Rainbolt, and Brooklyn Pagett. Everett is further survived by his three brothers, Victor Wiggins (Rosemary), Perry Wiggins, and Tom Wiggins (Cathy); along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett Earl Wiggins Sr. and Margaret May Wiggins (née Boyd).
Everett proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic before embarking on a distinguished 33-year career with United Airlines as an aircraft mechanic and Aircraft & Parts (A&P) inspector primarily in San Francisco, California as well as Orlando, Florida and Indianapolis, Indiana. His integrity, professionalism and commitment to excellence were a testament to his character. “Big Red” took great pride in mentoring others particularly his children and grandchildren. He was known for his strong work ethic and his resourcefulness, He was our "jack of all trades". Everett could fix anything, always willing to lend a helping hand and always generous with his advice.
Everett was an avid golfer and a beloved dance partner to many. Farming was his true passion, he loved the time spent raising our family on his farms in Madera, California. He was always the life of the party with those he loved most. His memory will forever be treasured by all who knew him.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00-1:00pm, Monday, January 27, 2025 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill (4095 Mariner Boulevard, Spring Hill, FL 34609), where Funeral Services begin at 1:00pm. A Graveside Service will occur Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 1:00pm at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.
