Frances Haworth Bangert

Her name for the first 20 years of her life was Frances Lewis Haworth. Then, as was the custom of the time, her maiden name was changed when she met Robert Bangert, who was destined to be her loving companion and husband for over 75 years. On August 8th, 2026, Frances Lewis Haworth Bangert, known to her family and friends as 'Frankie', passed into the hereafter. She was 103 years young when she passed away in Brooksville, Florida with a forever smile on her face.

That smile was the symbol that characterized her life for all four of her daughters. When they thought of their Mom, which was very often, it was her smile and her laughter that they envisioned with such clarity that they could not help but smile themselves at the image their minds created. Frankie. Mom. She was a jewel that they each cherished in their own way.

In addition to raising the four girls and taking care of her husband, Frankie worked for 8 years as an insurance specialist for a team of anesthesiologists in Vero Beach, Florida. She also served as historian for the Ft. Pierce Conservation Alliance.

If the writer were to be allowed one word to describe Frankie, it would have to be patience. She had an amazing capacity to see the good in every hurtle that life's journey put in her way, as well as that patience to endure until things changed for the better. And her ready smile and laughter helped her deal with the vicissitudes of life. That, in turn, helped everyone who knew her find the fortitude to better deal with life's challenges themselves.

Frankie was predeceased by her husband Bob, and blessed to have one sister, Margaret (Peggy), who also preceded her into the hereafter. Both girls were the progeny of Julia and Joseph Haworth of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Frankie is survived by four daughters, Julie Gray (Lincoln, Nebraska), Barbara White (and Kevin, King Ferry, New York), Amy Curry (and Jim, Spring Hill, Florida), Laurie Omans (Cazenovia, New York) and a niece, Carolyn Friedman (Charlotte, North Carolina). Five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren are also surviving descendants.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

To all her family, friends and acquaintances, Frankie sends her forever smile and heartfelt thanks for their love and contributions to a wonderful lifetime. May we all wish her a hearty ban voyage for whatever journey the hereafter holds for her.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Turner Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609, US, on August 12, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
