Poppop aka Big Kahuna aka The Man, The Myth, The Legend aka Old Man in the Woods - I miss you more than I can explain. I’ve never known a life without my Poppop right there supporting me. You checked up on me all the time and sent me the smallest things that reminded you of me, YouTube videos, articles, the sweetest Happy Birthday messages. I miss the times we spent together after school getting Wendy’s, the little dates we would go on, the trips to Dunkin Donuts. I miss our weekends together at “Budville”, which I wish we would’ve had more of, and I’m sorry we didn’t. I miss how you ALWAYS looked presentable, in your button up shirts, with your hair combed over or your “World’s Best Poppop” hat on. You cherished every gift I ever got for you. I know you would’ve looked so dapper walking me down the aisle at my wedding and I know you were thrilled that I wanted that. I’m just so sorry we didn’t get enough time to make that happen. You were truly my hero. You taught me  to be giving, even if you don’t get anything in return. You taught me the value of working hard to live a comfortable life and you taught me that your mistakes don’t define you by any means, they only make you stronger and wiser. Even when I went through my own mistakes, you pushed me to be a stronger person and to not let this world victimize me. You were so wise and lived such a full life. I would give anything to hear another one of your MANY stories. No one tells a story like you. And you’d tell them to anybody who would listen, stranger or not. As much as you loved to be a hermit, you truly cared about people too. Even in your last days. You always had your quirks and I wouldn’t change a single one of them because there is, and always will be, just one true, irreplaceable Poppop and that was you. I will spend the rest of my life missing you and I just hope you knew that I loved you SO MUCH. Love, your #1 always (ssh, don’t tell anyone) ❤️
