George later retired from the Metropolitan Transit Authority of New York City. Him and his wife relocate to 2151 Orchard Park Drive in Spring Hill, Fl. To enjoy their retirement.
George was preceded by his father George Rivers, mother Mary Strother Rivers, his brother Beryl Rivers his son George Rivers Jr, and his loving wife Lois Rivers.
George was survived by his daughter Laverne Rivers Gunn (Parris.) His son Laurence Rivers Sr. (Antwona.) Both of Spring Hill, Fla.
His grandchildren Parris Gunn Jr. Latina Rivers, Latesha Moore, Preston Gunn, Anjelica Rivers, Chelcee’ Rivers, Latrece Abbott,
Laurence Rivers II, Leah Ologbo and Robin Reynolds. Also a host of great grandchildren.
George transitioned on November 22, 2025 at his home in bed surrounded by his guardian angels and his family.
