Gladys C. Buckley Mullin

Gladys C. Mullin (Buckley) 93, of Spring Hill, Florida, formerly of Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey passed away on August 21, 2014 at Oak Hill Hospital, Brooksville, Florida. She lived in Timber Pines, Spring Hill, Florida for 13 years and at the Residence of Timber Pines for the last four years. Gladys was born March 19, 1921 to Raymond and Anastasia Buckley of Valley Stream, New York. She graduated from Valley Stream Central High School in 1938. Her death was preceded by her loving husband of 66 years, Richard J. Mullin. Survivors include her four children Eileen Mullin Bernat, of Augusta, Georgia, Sharon (Glenn) Hodne of Pearl River, New York, Richard (Cecilia) Mullin of Hempstead, New York and Kathleen (Gil) Quintero of Mahwah, New Jersey, five grandchildren Tim and Ryan Bernat of Augusta, Georgia, Erin (Peter) O’Brien of Millis, Massachusetts, Thomas and Daniel Mullin of Hempstead, New York. She is also survived by her two brothers James Buckley of Valley Stream, New York and Robert (Arden) Buckley of Spring Hill, Florida and many relatives and friends. She is also predeceased by her brother Raymond Buckley of Virginia. A beloved mother and grandmother, Gladys will especially be remembered for her kind and loving heart, a zest for life, her quick wit and sense of adventure. She was a devout Catholic and spent many years volunteering at The Sisters of Charity Soup Kitchen in Newark, NJ and at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Charity in Spring Hill, Florida. Gladys was very athletic and loved playing sports and spending time with her family and extended family at the Annual Buckley Family Weekend. Visitation will be held at Turner Funeral Home, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Brooksville, FL on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 5-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, 5030 Mariner Blvd, Spring Hill, FL on Tuesday, August 26th at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Make-A-Wish® Hudson Valley, 832 S. Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591 and online at www.hudson.wish.org.
