With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Choi, Hak-Soon (better known to friends and family as “Halmonie”), 89, on June 24, 2022, our loving and devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, mother, and friend to all whose lives she touched.
She was born in Incheon, South Korea on December 23, 1933. She married her husband, Song Bok-Sup in 1953. She was a military wife who diligently served God and took care of her home and children. In 1991, she immigrated to the United States to be with her daughter, Sook. Halmonie was the beloved mother to 3 sons and 2 daughters, proud grandmother of Stephanie and Billy, and proud great-grandmother of Noémie and Nora.
She lived a full life as an amazing mother, grandmother and dedicated servant of God. She woke up at 5:30 a.m. every morning to begin her day with songs and prayer. She loved flowers and gardening, sitting outside to watch the birds, and preparing meals to make sure everyone was fed. Most of all, she loved God and her family and instilled good values in her children and grandchildren. Her favorite verse is: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-20 and favorite Hymn is Lily of the Valley. She is missed dearly and will forever live in our hearts.
A celebration of Halmonie’s life will be held at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 200 Mt Fair Ave., Brooksville, FL 34601 on Friday, July 1, 2022, beginning at 12 p.m. Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. just before the funeral.
