Phelps, James, 68, of Spring Hill, FL passed away on July 29th, 2017. He was born in St. Louis, MO to James and Shirley Phelps. James served in the Army during Vietnam as a draftsman and received the National Defense Service Medal as well as the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. Afterwards, he went into sales for electrical service equipment. James is described by all as a devoted, humorous and considerate person who touched many people’s lives with his kindness and gentle nature. James is predeceased by his brother, Ray Phelps. His survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Jeannine Phelps, their sons, Ken (Lori) Phelps and Patrick Phelps, brother, John Phelps, sister, Kathy Martin Tate, grandson, Trenton Phelps and the faithful family dog, Rusty the Sheltie. Jim was also a great uncle to many nieces and nephews, brother-in- law and devoted friend. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the VVA (Vietnam Veteran’s of America). A memorial service in St. Louis will be held at a later date.
