Jean Constance Fischer, passed away December 5, 2016. She was born May 27, 1923 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Brooklyn, New York to Edith Mae Newswander and Adolph Fischer. On July 10, 1942 she married Jerome Innis Odell in South Hampton, Long Island. Jean was a homemaker and also worked as a receptionist for an insurance agency in her hometown of Freeport, Long Island. Her husband, Jerry retired as a police officer from the Freeport Police Department as Sergeant. In 1983 they moved to Spring Hill, FL. Jean attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Jean had 2 children who survive her, Dawn Rutledge Burns of Virginia Beach, VA and Lawrence Douglas Odell of Matawan, NJ. She is also survived by grandchildren; Dawn’s children: Rob and Jeff Burns and Laura Eklund (Burns); Lawrence’s children, Kerry Ann Steed (Odell) of Matawan, NJ and Paul Douglas Odell of Morristown, NJ; and 5 great-grandchildren. Visitation Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 2-4 pm at Turner Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel.
