Jean Pratt Palmer, age 96, of Fairburn, GA died on February 16, 2016 at her residence. She was born on October 14, 1920 in Great Falls, MT, to the late Philip W. and Allene (Leader) Pratt. Jean was a long time resident of Brooksville, before moving to Georgia to be close to family. A retired School teacher, teaching in the Public School Systems. Jean received a Bachelor’s degree, and held memberships in the P.E.O Sisterhood, Chapter FR, Spring Hill, FL. Delta Delta Delta Sorority – Tri County Alumni Chapter Brooksville, FL. and St. Anthony the Abbott Women’s Guild, in Brooksville, FL. Jean was of Roman Catholic Faith, and a longtime member of St. Anthony the Abbott Catholic Church, in Brooksville. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband LT COL Douglas M. Palmer, Jr. September 27, 1992. Jean is survived by her son, Douglas M. Palmer, III, and his wife, Judith Q. Palmer, of Fairburn, GA, 2 grandchildren, and daughter-in-las, Jane H. Palmer, of St. Johns, FL. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 12:30 PM, at St. Anthony the Abbott Catholic Church, 20428 Cortez Blvd. Brooksville, FL 34601. Fr. Paul Pecchie of St Anthony the Abbott will officiate. Committal Blessing will be held at Florida National Cemetery, at 2 PM, with Deacon Manuel Carreiro. Jean will be buried next to her husband Douglas following services. Turner Funeral Home, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609 is entrusted with Jean’s final care.
