John G (Jack) McCarthy, (83) of Timber Pines passed away on Sat. Sept. 12, 2015. He was born in Cohasset, Ma. Jack attended schools in Weymouth, Ma. He served his country honorably in both the US Army ('49 - '53) and the US Air Force ('55 - 59). In civilian life he was a sales representative of garden products and supplies for all of New England. Jack retired in l992 and moved with his wife to Timber Pines. He loved playing golf, shooting pool and telling jokes. He loved people and never met a stranger. Jack will be missed by his loving family and many friends.Jack is survived by his wife Jean, son Kevin and wife Carol, grandchildren Ashley, Alex and Natasha (Dan) and great grandchildren Hayden and Sophia.At Jack's request there will only be a service at the cemetery for family and friends.Arrangements were made with Turner Funeral Home in Spring Hill.The service will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on Friday, Oct 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Hospice of Hernando County
