

Joyce Levesque Mula, age 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 28th, 2026, in Crystal River, Florida. She was born on March 30, 1936, in Fall River, Massachusetts. A woman defined by her devotion to her family, Joyce’s warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Joyce was the daughter of Ethel and George Payton (predeceased), who raised her alongside her 6 siblings, all of whom are predeceased, Eleanor Shaw, Arlene Berard, Reggie Levesque, Arthur Levesque, Louie Levesque, and Richard Levesque in Springfield, Massachusetts.
As a teenager, Joyce went on to live with her eldest sister Eleanor in Qunicy, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Quincy High School in 1954.
Joyce married the love of her life and best friend, Joseph V. Mula, in 1956 and together they created a life full of love and laughter. Moving to Rockland, Massachusetts and welcoming 1 son and 3 daughters. During this time, she worked at New England Art and Electro Signal Lab while raising her family.
After the death of her beloved husband, Joyce loved spending her time at the Rockland Senior Center with her friends. She was an avid book reader, lover of Friday night card games and had a talent for the many crafts she enjoyed doing, often sharing her handmade creations with family and friends. In 2021, Joyce relocated to Brooksville, Florida to be closer to her 3 daughters.
Joyce’s life was a testament to the bonds of family, whether as a wife, mother, sister, or grandmother. She left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she left behind.
Joyce leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory, including her children: Joseph V. Mula and wife Lisa from Massachusetts, Karen Cross, Diane Mula, and Doreen Demars (Joseph- predeceased) all from Florida. Her life was also enriched by her adored grandchildren: Jennifer Bauder and her husband Daren, Lisa McMullen and husband Shawn, both from Colorado, Tracey Coates and partner Josh, Jeffrey Demars and wife Jennifer, both from Florida, Joseph R. Mula and wife Susan, Nicole Nicotera and her husband Michael, Jackie Mula and her fiancé Jon, all from Massachusetts, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The love and wisdom that Joyce imparted will guide and inspire them always.
Joyce’s legacy is one of love, laughter, loyalty and unwavering devotion to those she held close. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A private gathering for family and friends will be held to celebrate her life.
Joyce will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, beside her beloved husband. A committal service will be held at Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513) on June 3, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
