Kathleen Richardson Mauro was born on December 27, 1956 and passed away on June 7, 2019. She was born in Holly Hills Florida. From the beginning Kathy overcame difficult odds. Born at just over 3lbs she lived in an incubator for several months and later at the age 14 was forced into foster care due to her mother’s illness and inability to take care of her. Despite these obstacles she owned and operated five small companies and assisted over 150 business owners with their company’s transition and even authored a book. Kathy loved to travel, cook, spend time with family and praise her God. She is survived by her Husband Jim Mauro, five children including Daughter Christy Murcko (David), Daughter Nancy Mauro, Daughter Hettie Mauro, Daughter Jennifer Lausen (Will) and son Jimmy Mauro and ten grandchildren. While it is often exhilarating to know one-of-a-kind persons, it is also sadder when they go because you know how unique and rare they are. And in their little corner of the world, there will always be a little vacancy- they can never be replaced.

When I heard of Kathy’s passing, I immediately thought of Chrissi and the twins, because I witnessed her Love for you all! I sympathized as best my heart could, because I felt I share a very similar bond with my mother. It’s an undeniable Love Kathy exuded for her whole family. She had such pride! I was Blessed with the opportunity to visit with Kathy about every 6 -8 weeks over the last 5 years as she was a client of mine. She always came in like a whirl wind! It was hard to get her to slow down to take time for herself, because she enjoyed life to it’s fullest! She was such a strong intelligent soul, Whom was always willing to help, from a professional opinion to a mothering one, because of her I have the business I have! With out even knowing she helped in teaching me how to be the perfect mix of business and class! To Kathy and her family I’m forever grateful, just by having known her and seeing the amount of Heart and Fight she always had. She left such a beautiful mark on this Earth along her fearless journey, May she Rest In Peace.

We met Kathy and Jim right after I lost my parents 15 years ago . Ever since then we celebrated many holidays, occasions and business adventures. Even when life got in the way, we always bonded in spirit and in love.
Kathy is one of the most remarkable women I know; caring, loving, wise, compassionate and spiritual: but most of all, her love to help anyone even overlooking her own needs.

Jim, you were there every step of the way, loving her, supporting her in every way you could. Kathy knows the love you have for her.

Kathy and Christy's love for each other was like no other. I have never seen such a beautiful mother-daughter relationship like they have.

Our prayers are not for Kathy, BUT for her family and friends; . Kathy , we know you are with Jesus, you fought a great battle, and Jesus said it was time to come home. Well, we are now celebrating your life but we sure do miss you. Until we meet again!!!

P.S. There are no laptops in heaven!!!!!!

My late husband and I met Kathy at her daughter’s dinner party. Christy wanted the families to meet before her forthcoming nuptials to my nephew David. After the formalities, Kathy busied herself in the kitchen helping Christy prepare an elegant meal. It didn’t take long to recognize the uniqueness of this beautiful woman, so interesting and with so much to share. We had many occasions to meet at family gatherings over the years: birthday parties, celebrating holidays, honoring Kathy on her birthday and other memorable activities. Always encouraging and selfless, I will forever hold Kathy close and respect the struggle and pain she endured fighting the battle. God has welcomed an angel into his fold. Rest in peace, dear Kathy.

I think Kathy would be surprised to know that she influenced so much of my life. I learned the importance of being a strong woman in business from Kathy. She taught me to do it all with grace and poise and a smile on my face. She taught me that in business not everyone is the friend they pretend to be. I learned a lot about being a strong single mom from her. Christy, from the very first day I met you both, her love for you was unapologetically overwhelming. There was no doubt that everything that she did was for you. Jim, I remember the first day she met you. She came back to the office and talked about what a magnificent man you are. Over the years I’ve thought of her fondly and carried so much of her with me.

My world was a better place because Kathy was in it. I never got a chance to tell her that, but I hope that she knew what an influence she had on me.

Hey Kathy. Thanks for Your friendship and all you’ve done for me in the past. You really helped me grow my brokerage firm and I learned a lot from you. Pretty cool about you and your friend writing that book. I’m proud of you. You are awesome. And a person I always trusted and appreciated. Wish we had grabbed one more meeting or time together or bite to eat. You and Jim are an awesome team. See you on the other side of life as we know it. All the best-Brian
