Les (Leszek) Kwiatkowski, 67, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019. He was born in Bermen, Germany to Stanley and Mary Kwiatkowski and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Kwiatkowski; son Christopher D. Kwiatkowski (Renita); daughter Melessa M. Hitchcock (Stephen); brother Johnny Kwiatkowski (Kathy); sister Krystyna Adamic; four grandchildren – Brianna Garland, Gavin, Ayden & Addilyn Hitchcock ,one great grandchild Alohnna Craig, one on the way and many more nieces, nephews and family members. Anyone that knew Les, knew that he was full of fire. He embraced what he was passionate about at full speed and didn’t apologize for it. He loved his family with his whole heart and embraced friends as family. His time with his grandkids was his most treasured, and he was fortunate to be nearby by some. Whether it was teaching Gavin to play chess, playing video games with Ayden or attending a family function/BBQ, he always found the energy & time for them. Addilyn was his shadow and they cherished days at the park, playing in the yard or just hanging out eating popcorn & watching Netflix. He loved to read, debate opinions, spend time with his grandchildren & family, loved his sci-fi, could fix anything, was never far from his coffee cup and didn’t believe in the easy way out. Visitation 6-8pm Monday, May 13, 2019. Funeral service will be 2pm Tuesday, May 14, 2019 all located at Turner Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Florida Hills Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were entrusted to Turner Funeral Home 14360 Spring Hill Dr. Spring Hill, Florida 34609.

Les made our lives better. He could fix anything, install anything and always had an opinion about something.

If I ever needed to know what was happening in the world, I would just ask Les. He was better than the evening news. I will miss our debates and conversations, sitting and drinking cold Diet Cherry Pepsi in the family room.

Les was a knight in shining armor. He rescued me (more than I can count!) when my old VW station wagon broke down with my kids in the back. And then he fixed my car on top of that and never asked for anything in return. His acts of service were his way of showing that he cared about someone.

Les was such a great guy. He put family first and he and Mary were a team. He loved them all so very much and Les would often stop by and chat in the driveway and let us know what was happening in his world, especially news about his ongoing projects, road trips and the grandkids.

There is so much more to say. Les will be greatly missed. He may be gone, but Les will never be forgotten.
God bless Les and his family always,
Katarina, Michael, Christian & Lukas

On behalf of my family ( The Canadian Kwiatkowski "cousins"), I would like to express our deepest condolences to Leszek's family. As a child, I fondly remember our trips to Detroit to visit our cousins. I remember Les as a fun loving teenager who always kept us entertained during our visits. I cherish these memories.

As a child growing up in Chatham Ontario Canada my brother Hank and my sister Krystine loved our visits to Detroit to visit our cousin's. As our families grew, we got together more often. Our cousin's would come to Hamilton to visit and I remember the last visit when my older brother got married. Sadly as time went by we began to lose track of one another. When our parents passed it seemed the link was broken but not in our hearts! The memories and stories are many and are the fabric of growing up a Kwiatkowski. Although we will not be able to attend please understand that our hearts are broken and we are all remembering with Love. God Bless the Kwiatkowski extended family and Rest In Peace Les.
