Lloyd George Augustus Samuels, affectionately known as" Uncle Pat" was born in St. Andrews, Jamaica on August 18, 1930. He lived in Jamaica for 20 years before emigrating to England in the 1950s and then to the United States. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lydia, son Bobby, daughter Marcia and granddaughter Maxine. Together they have 3 surviving children: Frederick, Lorna and Joan along with 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grand children and 3 great-great grand children as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Discipline and core values were instilled from our youth. Thank you for the many lessons that you have taught us.
Lloyd worked as a telephone operator in Jamaica. In England, he worked for the London Transport System, Palmer Aerospace Products, Limited, and was most proud of his work with parts for the Supersonic Concord. He was a Mason, having obtained a high degree in the Fraternal Order of Scottish Rite. He met and married the love of his life Lydia in the 1970s. They immigrated to New York. Uncle Pat went to the State University of New York for apparel processing and trained as an Orthopedic Technician with Mount Sinai School of Medicine, in which, he worked for many years with the Joint Disease Hospital, as well as being an auxiliary police officer; and retired to Florida in the 1990s where they both spent the rest of their years.
As far as travel, Uncle Pat (and Auntie Luna) were avid travelers. Traveling to Germany, California and many other states throughout the U.S.
Hobbies include cricket (in youth), scrap booking, gardening and telling funny stories of his life's experiences. Lloyd was socially adept, making friends where ever he went. We love and miss you dearly. See you soon.
