Mrs. Lois Virginia Vega, 90, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away on September 22, 2026. Born in Dover, FL on October 25, 1935, she lived a life marked by steadfast devotion to family and a quiet strength that will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.
Lois was the daughter of Ernest Eugene Frier and Maxine Lucy Smith. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Lucy Smith; her father, Ernest Eugene Frier; her husband, Joseph Vega; her daughter, Tammy Kidd; her stepdaughter, Ellen Fedor; her brother, Mac Frier; and her sisters, Gladys Datch and Lucy Caruso.
She is survived by her sister, Jean Pinero. She is also survived by her children: sons Dale Hyatt and David Hyatt, and daughters Loretta Yeager Todd, Virginia Rimmer, Karen Campbell, and Linda Campbell. Lois was a grandmother of 17, a great-grandmother of 31, and a great-great-grandmother of 16—an enduring legacy carried forward through generations of family who will continue to honor her memory.
Visitation will be held at Turner Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609, on October 2, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. A Funeral Service will follow at the same location on October 2, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. A Committal Service will take place at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513, on October 2, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
