Along with being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she worked various occupations during her life. She concluded her working career with approximately 20 years at BellSouth.
After she retired, she joined AT&T Pioneers Volunteer Network keeping busy giving to her community however she could; knitting caps for preemies at the hospital, being a part of the neighborhood HOA staff, and assisting with the county election polling sites were just some of the ways she contributed.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Picciano and daughter Marie T. Byrnes. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Malcolm, son Robert Picciano (Kay), grandchildren Lisa Picciano (Jamie) and Andrea Shamblim (Ben), and great grandchildren Hayley and Chase.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday July 25, 2023 at Turner Funeral Homes, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609, followed by a mass at 1:30 PM at St. Mary Our Lady of Sorrows, 18810 US Hwy 41, Brooksville, FL 34610. An inurnment will take place at a later date at Brooksville City Cemetery.
