Marilyn Agatha Budowski, 72, passed away on May 24, 2026. Born on March 5, 1954, in Wayne County, West Virginia, she later made her home in Florida and was a resident of Brooksville. In October of 1966, Marilyn moved to Masaryktown, Florida, a change that marked the beginning of a life grounded in family, community, and enduring connections.
Marilyn was beloved, and those who knew her understood why: she carried a generous spirit that made room for others, opening her home and her heart to family, friends, and even strangers. She cherished traditions and found particular joy in Christmas breakfast shared with loved ones. She also treasured lifelong friendships, including those with Wayne Hill and Donna Murry—bonds that reflected the steady, lasting care she gave to the people in her life. Her love, laughter, and kindness will be remembered, felt, and heard through seasons to come. Like the oak trees that surround us, Marilyn stood tall and strong through every storm she weathered, holding fast to her roots, drawing strength from the love of family and friends, and offering shelter, comfort, and wisdom to those who needed it most. Though she has passed from our sight, her legacy remains deeply rooted in the lives she touched. May she rest high upon the mountains.
Marilyn was the daughter of Clifford Mitchell and Vivian Smith Mitchell. She is survived by her siblings: Brenda Sharrer of Zanesville, Ohio; Linda Lyons (Arthur) of Floral City, FL; Sandra Walls of Hamlin, WV; Brian Mitchell of Las Vegas Nevada; and Robert Mitchell (Susan) of Danville, KY. She was preceded in death by her brothers John and Joseph, and her sister Christine.
Marilyn is also survived by her children: Larry Boice of DeFuniak Springs, FL; Laura Boice of Lake Ciy, FL; Angel Morgan of Rutland, Vermont; and Christopher Schumacher of Roanoke, Virginia. Her foster children Crystal Foxworth-Burrell and Shane Darby Sr. She is survived by her grandchildren: Tanya Clark, Wisper Ownbey, Rebecca Ownbey, Billie Allen, Sage Wiederhold, Dartagnan Schumacher, Dakota Schumacher, Tallon Guinta, Adelia Guinta, Cain Guinta; as well as 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
