Born on March 25, 1964, in Clearwater, Florida, and raised in Tampa, Mark was a passionate Tampa native who cherished his hometown. He left a lasting impression on all who knew him with his kindness, infectious laughter, and vibrant spirit. Mark’s generosity, love, sense of humor, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends ensured that he would always be remembered as a man of his word who remained strong and steadfast throughout his life.
During his childhood and adolescence, Mark thrived on spending time with family and friends, playing baseball, and cruising to the beach in his beloved red T-top Trans Am. He embraced life to the fullest, creating countless memories filled with joy and adventure. Whether it was enjoying a sunny day at the beach or gathering with loved ones, Mark’s zest for life was evident in everything he did.
A proud American, Mark felt honored to serve and protect his country. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1987, where he served for two years before being honorably discharged in 1989. It was during his service that he met the love of his life, Sharon, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Their love blossomed, and together, they built a beautiful life over the next 36 years, filled with laughter, love, and shared dreams.
Mark began his professional career in the 1990s as a driver before transitioning into the grocery industry, where he dedicated a decade of service to Publix, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike. After retiring from the grocery industry, he pursued his passion for photography, opening his own studio in the Carrollwood area. Mark found joy in capturing life's moments through his lens, a reflection of his creative spirit.
Later, he ventured into the trucking business, founding Blackhawk Transport, where he discovered a profound love for the open road. Mark and Sharon shared countless adventures as they traveled across the country in their semi, creating cherished memories while enjoying breathtaking views. After nearly twenty years in the trucking industry, Mark transitioned from Grammer Industries due to personal health challenges that necessitated a shift in focus toward his well-being. Despite this change, his optimism and resilience shone brightly, inspiring those around him to find joy in every moment.
Mark was a devoted family man, cherished as the best Dad and Pop Pop in the world. He loved his family wholeheartedly and was always willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His nurturing spirit and selflessness will forever be etched in the hearts of his loved ones. Though he was taken from us too soon, he is now at peace, embraced by the Lord, and free from pain. He will be deeply and forever missed.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. Chapman and Gladys M. Chapman. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; his daughter, Danielle Chapman and her family; his two stepsons, Brian L. Stephens, Jr. and his family, and Sean R.
