Martha Allison was born in Boston, Massachusetts to parents William Gladstone Allison and Frances Havey Allison on October 11, 1941. She lived happily in Winthrop with her parents and many siblings, attending local schools and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1960. Shortly thereafter, she met a dashing young Sailor from Tampa Florida and after a short romance, married Ellis Albert Blosfield JR. They moved from the Boston area to the Naval Base Norfolk, Virginia. It was there that she gave birth to their first child, Ellis Albert Blosfield III. Shortly thereafter her husband left the US Naval service she moved with her family down to Tampa Florida, where she gave birth to her second child, Angel Beth Blosfield.
When the children were school age, she returned back to the work force at the City of Tampa, Utility Accounting division for a number of years. She later transferred to the Howard F. Curran Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant as an Operator to finish a 30 plus year career with the City of Tampa. She then went to work at the Hillsborough County Clerk of the Circuit Court for shorter stint before finally retiring for good in the early 2000’s.
Martha Allison remained married throughout the early part of her adult life, but unfortunately divorced after 25 years of marriage. She never remarried. Although her marriage turned out to be less permanent than expected, they successfully raised two exceptional children together.
Martha Allison (Blosfield) is preceded in death by her parents and all her Allison siblings, but they are all back together once more in God’s Heavenly Kingdom.
Martha Allison is survived by her children: Son Ellis Blosfield III and Wife Wende Blosfield-Wilkerson, Daughter Angel Blosfield-Fields & Husband Tom Fields, and seven Grandchildren and three Great-Grandchildren; as well many nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.
Martha Allison was a 45 year Breast Cancer Survivor. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations from family and friends may be given to the Breast Cancer Awareness at Breastcancer.org or the American Cancer Society.
