He is preceded by his parents, Florence Hasty and Wylie Baker; his children, Charles Baker, James Baker, and David Baker.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Baker; his brother, Richard Baker; his children, Linda Beaumont, William Baker, Deborah Chamberlain, Lawrence Baker, Barbara Price, Sharon Russell, Dale Baker, Phillip Bussinger, and Rhonda Johnson. He has had a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as friends, and church family.
Marv was a man of complexity, simplicity and familiarity all wrapped into one. He was a man of great faith with a love of Jesus first and foremost but beyond that a husband to his wife, a father to his children, a friend to his friends and an inspiration to those that had the privilege to get to know him.
This was a true beacon of conviction.. the person you could come to when the chips were down. He always had an encouraging word or something one could take away from a conversation just feeling like "God has everything in control."
Marvin was an avid sports fan of his local Michigan teams, a golfer, a fisherman and a big smile for everyone he encountered. He loved his family, friends and anyone with a big block "M" on their hat or shirt.
The world is a little bit more empty for Marvin's absence but a little fuller for his being here to begin with.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Marvin's life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Berean Assembly (5241 Barclay Avenue, Spring Hill, FL). He will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with military honors.
