

Mary Ann Burskey, age 95, of Spring Hill, Florida, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at her home. Mary was born on December 17, 1921, in the Czechoslovakia, to the late Andrew John & Suzanna (Kundrat) Franek. Mary had immigrated to the United States in 1925 with her parents from Hervartov, Czechoslovakia. She became a US citizen in 1957. She was raised in Empire, Ohio and then after marrying her husband Frank they moved to Akron, Ohio where they raised their only child Frank. Mary touched so many lives over the years. She had crocheted baby blankets, baby bonnets and baby bootees. Mary would send a complete set to an occasional famous person and on occasion she would get a response. Mary over the years received thank you letters from Buckingham Palace, Joe and Jessica Namath, and Nicole Simpson. Mary was happiest when she was around family. Frank and Rebecca moved Mary to Florida in 2005 where they followed behind her in the same year. Mary would have been 96 years young on December 17, 2017. She was independent and smart. We always called her our Angel on Earth. Mary was preceded by Husband of 43 years Frank Burskey in 1987, and brother John Franek. She is lovingly survived by her only son Frank M Burskey and his wife Rebecca of Spring Hill, FL; siblings; sister, Anne Uhrinek, sister, Helen Peters, brother, Joseph Franek and his wife JoAnn Franek 2 grandchildren; Michelle Landry and Eric Burskey both in California. Three great grand-children Erin, Paige and Isabel. One great great grand-grandchild, Chase Merrill.Two dearest of Friends Dave and Phyllis Stohls in California. Mary’s final arrangements and cremation are entrusted to the Turner Funeral Homes, Spring Hill, FL. Mary requested that she be cremated and her remains returned to California at Riverside National Cemetery, in Riverside, Ca. to be placed along with her husband Frank.
