Patricia "Patty" Pienkos, nee Roche, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away quietly on September 9, 2026 after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 6, 1957 to the late Garrett Roche and Catherine Roche (nee Dunne), Patty was the youngest of five children in a loving and lively Irish-American family. From an early age, she displayed a strong creative bent and artistic flair, as well as a generous, warm-hearted spirit; and those qualities shone in both her work and social life. Her caring attitude made her a much appreciated office manager for several commercial enterprises in New York City, and, after she moved to Spring Hill in 1987, she was a successful rental real estate agent known for her kindness and care for her clients. In her social life, Patty is remembered for creating an inviting atmosphere in her home for welcoming and entertaining family and friends with her late husband Ricky. When she was not entertaining, she liked to read mysteries, thrillers, and The New York Post. A few months before she died, she told one of her sisters that she had had a wonderful life and no regrets--a true testament to a life well lived.
Patty was preceded in death by her loving husband Roderick "Ricky" Pienkos of almost 40 years, her parents Garrett and Catherine Roche, and her sister Ann Sperrazza (Carl). She is survived by her sisters Kathleen Roche (wife of the late Stan Kroman) and Eileen Curtis (Greg) and by her brother Kevin Roche (Cathy), as well as a nephew Carl Sperrazza (Mary), a great niece Isabella and a great nephew Marco. She is also survived by three brothers-in-law: Bruce (Maria) Pienkos and their children Kelly Nase, Stacy Pienkos, and Jaclin Brower; Timmy (Linda) Pienkos and their children Lea Fischer and Tara Brown; and Michael Pienkos and his children Nicole Gittleson and Michael Pienkos. In addition, there are five great nephews and three great nieces from the Pienkos side of the family.
