

Patricia Jean Stolberg, 100, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021. She was born in Medford, Oregon to Arthur and Winnifred Short. She moved to Spring Hill in 1977 from Sullivan Harbor, Maine. She was a member of the Mariner United Methodist Church in Spring Hill.
Patricia and Elton married in 1945 in Fairfield, CA. After staying home to raise 2 children, Patricia returned to work as a Social Worker for the Maine Department of Human Services until her retirement. This was a very personally rewarding job for her. Over the years, Patricia and Elton had lived in California, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Oregon, Alaska, Washington, Florida, Ohio, and Maine.
Her children are: Janet, born in 1949 in Wisconsin, and Jeanne, born in 1955 in Washington.
Patricia always worked with her hands as an accomplished sewer, knitter, and was very skilled at making beautiful hooked rugs. She belonged to several guilds, won awards, and taught the folk art of rug hooking for 29 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elton Stolberg, brother Dwight and sister-in-law Arlene Short, sister-in-law June and her husband Tom Proctor, sister-in-law Dorothy Stolberg, and son-in-law William Smith.
She is survived by her daughters Janet Cranston (Richard) of Gorham, ME; Jeanne Stolberg (William Smith) of Sitka, Alaska; grandchildren Brian Smith of Boise, ID, Crystal (Ross) Macpherson of Standish, ME, and Matthew Cranston of Westbrook, ME; great grandchildren Mariah Cranston of Biddeford, ME and Ross Macpherson Jr. of Standish, ME; brother-in-law Lee Stolberg, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a kind and caring person who will be missed by her loving family and friends.
Memorial service will be 11AM Friday, February 18, 2022 at Turner Funeral Home in Spring Hill.
