

Paul “Sonny” Gusmano, age 85, died on February 17, 2016 at his residence in Spring Hill, Florida. Paul and his wife Jean moved to this area from Port Washington, Long Island, New York in 2003. Paul was the first of eleven children, and was born on May 1, 1930, in Copiague, NY to the late Joseph and Rose (Romanello) Gusmano. Paul was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Army. Paul retired as a General Contractor, a Master Carpenter, and was well known as a man who could build and fix anything. Paul loved to play golf, work mechanically on cars, and was an avid vegetable gardener. Paul was Roman Catholic by faith, a longtime member and served as an Usher at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Spring Hill, FL. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean (Parziale) Gusmano, on August 3, 2015, and by his 2 brothers; Joseph Gusmano and Franklin Gusmano. Paul is survived by his daughters; Laura (Robert) Klutz, of Spring Hill, FL and Lisa (AJ) Rising, of Key West, FL. grandson, Andrew Klutz, of Spring Hill, FL. cousins, Paul and Tina Parziale, of Spring Hill, FL. niece, Joanne Vinciguerra, of Spring Hill, FL. As well as 32 other nieces and nephews, all of Long Island, NY and great nephew, Michael Vinciguerra, also of Spring Hill. Paul is also survived by his remaining siblings; brothers, Jerry, Anthony, Richie and John Gusmano, and sisters, Benita Delgenio, Gloria Dimaio, Linda Locasio, and Frances Marchese, all of Long Island, NY. A Memorial Gathering is set for Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Turner Funeral Home, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL. 34609. The gathering will be held from 11 am until 1 pm. The Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm, with Fr. Edward Reiter, of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church officiating. A catered reception will follow at the funeral home.
