

Phyllis A. Brown, age 74, of Brooksville, Florida, died at her home on Sunday, August 7, 2016, under the supervision of Hernando Pasco Hospice. Phyllis was born in Denton, MO to the late Clayton & Ophelia (Key) Kilburn, on October 2, 1941. Phyllis and her husband Frank Walker Brown, came to Brooksville 35 years ago coming from Key West, FL following his retirement from the US Navy. While a resident of Brooksville, she was a co-owner with Frank of a pawn shop in Downtown Brooksville. Phyllis was Christian by faith, and was a longtime volunteer for Daystar, in Brooksville via St. Anthony the Abbott Catholic Church. Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Walker Brown in March 1995, son, Derek A. Brown in January 2008, and daughter, Belinda Saunders, in June 2008. Phyllis is survived by her sister, Norma Jean Childers, of Lowell, Arkansas, granddaughters, Donielle Saunders, and Renetta Saunders, both of St. Petersburg, FL., and grandson, Derek Walker Brown, of Ohio, 2 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held at the Turner Funeral Home, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 5:30 – 6:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral home at 6:00 PM, with Pastor Frank Carpenter of New Hope Assembly Of God Church in Brooksville. Burial will be next to Frank at the Florida National Cemetery and will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hernando Pasco Hospice in Phyllis’ honor.
