Son of Richard and Karen Baumgartner
Brother of Gregg and Gina Baumgartner & Denise and Shaun Martin
Uncle of Rachael and John Baumgartner & Sydney and Kyle Martin
Richard was a very caring, giving, loving, funny personality man. He loved to make you laugh. He loved all animals, all people, and especially his family.
He enjoyed cars, and since the early age of 2 years was always with his Matchbox cars. Richard also loved to go with his dad to car races and car shows from an early age. By 15 years old, Richard even rebuilt car engines. In his freshman year of high school, Richard was promoted to the Senior Automotive class because of his vast automotive knowledge!
Richard always helped everyone and anyone who needed his help—even those who were on the side of the road who needed help. He took in homeless to provide shelter and meals and tried to help them get back on their feet. Also, Richard did a lot of things for our elderly next-door neighbor who couldn’t drive: cooked for him, took him to doctor appointments, shopped, or just sat with him and talked. The fellow across the street said, “If I were cold and shirtless, Richard would give me his shirt off his back.”
Richard shared his faith and love of the Lord by helping others. Even when he wasn’t well, Richard still shared his love with others—that was his unlimited selflessness. Richard loved the Lord and loved being in church, as it gave him so much joy.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends. We look forward to being reunited with him one day!
