

Richard M. “Dick” Allegretti, age 77, of The Villages, FL. died on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Tuscany House Hospice Care facility, in Summerfield, FL. Dick was a resident of the Villages from 2006 till present, and was a Weeki Wachee, Fl., resident from 1998 until 2006. Richard moved to Central Florida from Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. Richard was born on November 17, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Nicholas and Mary (Lamastra) Allegretti. Dick retired from AT&T with 35 years of service as a Manager of several departments. In his youthful years, Dick was a volunteer with the Ridgefield Park, NJ Ambulance Corps. An avid boater and fisherman, Dick always loved to be around the water. Dick loved to cultivate and care for Bonsai Trees, was an avid chess player, was Roman Catholic by Faith and very involved in the Catholic Church in New Jersey. Dick was a long time member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Spring Hill. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife, Mary R. (nee Devine) Allegretti in October 2006. Richard is lovingly survived by his Daughter, Christine M. Allegretti, and by grandsons; Zander & Jacob Oliver, all of Valrico, FL. Richard’s family and friend will gather for a visitation at the Turner Funeral Home, Spring Hill Drive Chapel, on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 10-11:30 am. A Graveside service will be held at 12 Noon at the Florida Hills Memorial Garden Mausoleum Pavilion. Deacon James Leonard of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church will be officiating. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local hospice facility of your own choosing.
