Roamenia Christine Watson-Thomas

Roamenia was born on November 17, 1975, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Lawrence and the late Linda Watson. As a child Roamenia attended Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. After the family relocated to Florida, she attended the Josephine Street Church of the Living God.

Upon graduation from F.W. Springstead High School, in Springhill Florida, Roamenia earned a certificate in Early Childhood Education. She continued her formal education at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte North Carolina. After her mother’s passing, Roamenia made her home in Jacksonville Florida. She then became a member of Legacy Ministry and was a member of their Evangelism Team. She loved the Lord with all her heart. As an adult there, Roamenia operated “Changing Your Mind Daycare”. She was passionate about teaching children many things in her own unique way.

A real “go-getter”, Roamenia was also a professional tax preparer and worked for H&R Block for several decades. She was a Mary Kay Associate. Roamenia enjoyed traveling, driving, cooking, movies and arts & crafts. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family.

Roamenia is survived by her husband of 21 years, Melvin Jerome Thomas, her son Isaiah Watson, her father Lawrence Watson, her sister Sophia (Wayne), and granddaughter Hope Watson. She leaves to mourn her passing a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Special godchildren, Tiani Yancy, Tamaya Brower, Tenajah Williams, and Antonio Offord will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held at Turner Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609, US, on August 15, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Committal will take place at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, 14354 SPRING HILL DR, SPRING HILL, FL 34609, US, on August 15, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm, and a Repass will follow at VFW, 14736 Edward R Noll Dr., Spring Hill, FL 34609, on August 15, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm.
