Ruth had an interesting childhood. Growing up in the 30’s during the big band era, listening to the radio in the evening, singing along with all the songs. She started singing on the radio on the kiddie show on Saturday morning. This turned into singing and dancing in vaudeville, performing for Baltimore dignitaries from 4 years old until she was 16. Babe Ruth and Shirley Temple were only two
of many famous people she was able to meet in her young career. She met her future husband during WWII when he moved to Baltimore for work and were married when she was 19. During her married years, they lived in Bristol Tennessee with their two children. They were members of Redeemer
Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, worked in the women’s circles, was sponsors with her husband of the Luther League ( youth group) taught Sunday school and worked on the synod level learning how to teach Lutheran members to teach Sunday School. When her husband retired from Raytheon in 1985, they moved to Spring Hill, Florida where she again sang in the choir in three different Lutheran Churches, (The last one being Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Masaryktown, Florida) was
a Sunday school teacher, and was a member of the church council. Ruth and Clyde were married for 57 years until his passing in 2003. Ruth was a lover of animals, music, crocheting, and cooking. Most of all she loved her family and God. Her spiritual strength came from her strong belief in God and Jesus as her Savior. It brought her through many traumas, problems and sad times. She always had the knowledge that she was never alone, that God was by her side always.
