Stephen W. Blust

Steve was born in New York City and was raised in Hicksville, Long Island.

He graduated from Hicksville High School and earned a Business Administration degree from Niagara University.

He was married to Claire B. Hartl on September 11, 1965.

Steve was a US Army veteran serving in the Signal Corp in Vietnam in 1967-68.

Steve’s professional career was spent in the finance area primarily focused on Credit/Collections for several companies including American Airlines and Pan American Airlines. Following Pan Am’s bankruptcy, Steve ended his career as an independent consultant for Kramer Levin law firm in New York.

Following retirement, Steve volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem for the Hernando County Department of Children and Families and was a volunteer mediator for the 5th District Circuit Court of the State of Florida.

Steve loved new adventures from boating on New York and Chesapeake area waterways to golfing in the Hudson Highlands to RVing across America. He was a past commander of the Peekskill Yacht Club and served as President of the Highlands Country Club.

Steve is survived by his wife, Claire, and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was their “fun” uncle, serving as the family Santa Claus at Christmas gatherings for more than 30 years.
