

He was born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey on January 2, 1943 and married Patricia M. Caton on March 17, 1999.
Tom worked for Elizabeth Gas Company. He was very active with the volunteer fire department in his home town and held the following positions at Jersey Hose: Assistant Chief, Captain, Lieutenant. He was also President, Vice President and Trustee. Additionally he had the following department wide positions: Deputy Fire Chief of the Phillipsburg Fire Department. He was also the President and Vice President of the Phillipsburg Fireman's Relief Association.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Caton) Halley; children, Amy Coopersmith (Jesse) and Jason (Theresa); grandchildren, Emily Coopersmith and Sebastian Halley; siblings, twin sister Marie (Sue) Thornton, brother, Richard Halley; two special nephews, Sket Halley, Keith Thornton and many nieces.

Services will be private, inurnment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida at a later date.
