Tom is survived by his loving bride of 62 years, Elizabeth, sons Robert (Jennifer) and James (Donna). Predeceased by precious daughter Susan. Grandpa (Papa) to Sean, Michaela (Matthew), Colleen, Thomas (Samantha), James, Carolyn (Preston), Hannah (Caleb), Olivia (Kyle), Julianna, Isabella and Valentina. Great grandpa to Austin, Maverick, Waylon and Emilia.
Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1938 to Thomas and Florence Loughran, Tom graduated from Sewanhaka HS. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, he served aboard the USS Essex aircraft carrier. Tom married his sweetheart Elizabeth Brown in Pond Hill PA in 1960. Together they raised their family in Levittown, NY before retiring to Florida.
Tom led a full life including 28 years with Entenmann's Bakery in Bay Shore, NY. In his spare time Tom was an avid fisherman, woodworker and general "fixer" of all things broken. Tom, with his wife Elizabeth, were active volunteers at both Calvary Lutheran Church in East Meadow, NY and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Masaryktown, FL.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren to whom he was a tremendous role-model. Described in their own words, he was patient, sweet, kind-hearted, generous and strong in faith. He is greatly loved and will be missed by all.
Funeral service will be held on January 20th at 11:30am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1214 Broad St, Masaryktown, FL 34604 with interment following immediately at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
