Born in July 1929 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Virginia built a life defined by hard work, deep devotion to her family, and a passion for community. In 1948, she married the love of her life, Edwin T. Male. Together, they shared a profound partnership and raised five children.
After retiring, Virginia and Edwin embarked on a new chapter by moving to Brooksville, Florida. There, they embraced the Sunshine State and successfully ran several businesses, most notably managing The Oaks Motel for an incredible 37 years.
Virginia was deeply connected to her community and took great joy in cultivating beauty and life around her. She was an active member of the Brooksville Women’s Club, the Brooksville Garden Club, and The Rare Fruit Club of Tampa. An avid and talented gardener, she was especially known for her stunning roses and took immense pride in harvesting the fruits and vegetables of her labor.
Above all else, Virginia’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her dear husband Edwin. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her five children, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory, strength, and warmth.
A Celebration of Life for Virginia will be at Turner Funeral Home and Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, 14360 Spring Hill Dr. on August 24,2026 at 10:30
