Warren M. Van Liew, 95, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away on October 28, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family.
Born on June 12, 1931, in Fairview, Illinois, Warren graduated from Spoon River Valley High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Following his military service, he returned to Fairview to work the family farm and later dedicated 30 years to his community as a rural mail carrier.
Warren shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Norma. Together, they built a life
filled with love, family, and treasured memories. There is comfort in knowing he is now reunited with Norma, their daughter Patricia, and loved ones who passed before him.
He is survived by his loving children, Joan (Tammy) and Daniel (Monica), and his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Josh (Dori), Olivia and Bridger; Sarah (Dax) and Dax Jr.; Luis
(Carla), Parker and Jack; Ricardo (Alanna), Luca and Adalina; Sam (Abbie) and Rowan; Ian (Michelle); Sadie; and Silas. They brought him immeasurable joy, laughter, and comfort, especially in his later
years. He also leaves behind cherished extended family across the country, with whom he shared close and lasting bonds.
Warren treasured the friendships he built on Jersey Row in Illinois and later in Brooksville, where neighbors became friends and held a special place in his heart.
Warren had a lifelong curiosity and a special interest in cars, technology, and discovering how things worked. He was involved with the Rural Mail Carriers Association and First Presbyterian Church of Brooksville, where his faith and fellowship were important parts of his life.
Warren's 95 years were filled with hard work, dedication, and, above all, love for his family. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will live on through the generations he helped shape and the countless lives he touched.
His life was a blessing, his love a gift, and his memory a treasure we will carry in our hearts forever.
Warren and his beloved wife, Norma, will be interred together at the National Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life honoring their memory. The date and time will be announced at a later date.
