Attended the University of South Florida as an undergraduate with Wayne. Shared his struggles trying to get on to the Hillsborough County PD. He was a great friend to me, and my fiancee, and we drank a lot of Postum, and played a lot of racquetball together. 

Thought highly of him then. A man of integrity, honor and courage. May he rest in peace. Goodbye old friend.

I met Wayne in February 1989 at our first day of training with the US Marshals Service.  We were both going to be assigned to the Northern District of Georgia, so I figured that I needed to get to know this kid from Brooksville with the funny New York like accent.  Wayne quickly became a very close friend.  He had such a great disposition, was very giving, and had a huge - huge heart.  

We shared a lot of good times and gut busting laughs in training and in the office.  During our early days in Atlanta, Wayne drove a huge older model car that reminded everyone of the car described in the B-52’s song “Love Shack”…  “I’ve got me a car, it’s as big as a whale…”, you know the rest.  We would all get a chuckle when we saw him pulling up somewhere.  To this day, when I hear that song, I smile and think of my friend.  

We both left Atlanta after about four years and went our separate ways, only catching up when we ran into each other somewhere across the country.  I last saw Wayne at our training center in 2005.  We visited briefly, picking up as if it had been only a few days since we last saw each other.  That is just how our friendship was.  

I mourn the loss of my friend and brother, but am comforted knowing that there will be a day when we see each other again.  Rest in Peace Buddy!!!  


Wayne and I were classmates at the Marshals Academy.  We were a smaller class than usual which made us  a very close bunch. I did not see Wayne often after we graduated, but when we did run into each other it was like “old home week”. I remember him as an extremely strong man who love to eat. I will miss my friend and Brother Deputy. Rest my friend rest. 

We met Wayne & Julia last summer and later in the year had the esteemed honor of uniting them in matrimony. Wayne was by far the most optimistic person we have ever met. Despite his illness, being wheel-chair bound and on-going treatments, Wayne had the most wonderful disposition. His hopefulness and beautiful outlook on life was infectious, making it impossible to not share in his positivity and we were so privileged to be a part of their special day. The world has lost a wonderful soul; one whom we were blessed to have had the opportunity to meet. May his name be for a blessing and may the family know no further sorrow.
