Born on August 4, 1943, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Bill was the son of George and Dorothy Evans. He grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut, and graduated from Andrew Warde High School in 1961.
On December 26, 1969, Bill married Jacqueline J. Koszta, with whom he shared a devoted and loving partnership until her passing in 2015. Bill worked for many years as a machine press operator at the Remington Products Company in Bridgeport, Connecticut. After relocating to Florida, he built and operated a small landscaping business in Spring Hill before retiring.
Bill served his country as a member of the Army National Guard of Connecticut, receiving an honorable discharge in 1970. Throughout his life, he enjoyed being part of several bowling leagues in Spring Hill. He had a deep appreciation for automobiles—especially classic cars—and loved baseball, football, history, nature, and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacqueline; his brothers, John and Edward Evans; and his sister, Dorothy Evans. Bill is survived by his daughter, Michelle Evans; his aunt, Florence Catone; nephews William Timko and Edward Evans, Jr.; and nieces Lisa Toth, Deborah Tomis, and Tracy Evans.
Bill will be remembered for his steady presence, his loyalty to those he loved, his humor, and the passions that brought him joy.
A memorial service will be held later this year in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a Beagle rescue organization—such as Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue or the Beagle Freedom Project—in honor of Bill’s beloved Beagle, Max.
