William Henry Valiquette passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026 at the age of 76 in Spring Hill, FL. He was born on January 5, 1950 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He attended Mount Royal Catholic High School where he was on the curling team. He later graduated from Rice Memorial High School in South Burlington, Vermont, where his family had moved.
While in Vermont, he served in the Vermont National Guard for six years and also worked as a driver for Benways Taxi for almost 40 years.
He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He shared a special bond with his family, especially his siblings, creating memories that would last a lifetime. One of the greatest acts of love in his life was caring for his mother during the last decade of her life. Because of his devotion, she was able to remain in the home she loved, surrounded by familiar comforts and memories.
He never married and had no children of his own. But he touched the lives of family members and friends through his kindness and big heart. Those who knew him understood that beneath that sometimes awkward exterior was a caring heart and a deep love for his family.
He loved his Boston Red Sox, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Buccaneers. He knew all the stats for his favorite players and would call us to discuss each special play.
He is survived by his sister Maxine Wardle of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; his sister Meg Donnelly of San Diego, CA; his brother Jim (Joan Kornecki) Valiquette of Mooers Forks, NY; his sister Kathryn Valiquette of Colchester, VT; his brother Stephen (Karen) Valiquette of Spring Hill, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Gertrude Valiquette.
His family will remember him with love, gratitude and respect. He leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever. May he rest in peace.
A private family service to follow with interment in Calvary Cemetery, Rutland, Vermont, beside his parents
