Iolanda O’Connor (Yolanda Ciabó), 87, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020. She was born November 2, 1932 in Naples, Italy but was raised on the Almafi Coast in Sorrento Italy. Yolanda married Staff Sargent James A. O’Connor Jr. while he was stationed there with the USAF. When she arrived in the US she worked her way through the naturalization process to become a full- fledged US citizen. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia E. Dougherty (William) and Karol L. Mooney (John); grandchildren Aimee R. Hydock (John), James Doughtery, Tony W. O’Connor, and Renee T. Pearson (Herbert); and great-grandchildren John Hydock Jr., Aiden Hydock, Aubrey Pearson, Faith Pearson, and Nathaniel Pearson. She is survived by sister’s in law, Emily Lepor, Marilyn Mathews, and Kathleen Stivanelli. Yolanda is also survived by a nephew in Rome, Italy Amedeo Ciabó and a long time sister/friend Theresa Costellano of Naples, Italy.
The family is holding a service in memorium to be held at a later date due to social distancing. It will be held in Washington’s Crossing National Cemetery in Washington’s Crossing, Pennsylvania. Please check with the family for details.
